Small but Mighty: The 13-Month-Old Chihuahua Making Waves as a National Icon

You are likely familiar with the saying that small peppers are spicy, and it certainly seems to hold true here.

Meet the top attraction of Mexico's National Guard.

A small dog is fully suited up in a tactical vest and a hat equipped with gear.

Despite being a Chihuahua, a small breed, it looks quite dignified.

This is "Commando," who was recently accepted as a member of the National Guard, which belongs to the Mexican military.

Weighing just 7 kg and at 13 months of age, Commando was recruited into the National Guard after the elderly couple living with him could no longer care for him.

While Commando cannot be deployed for high-difficulty tactical operations like typical military dogs such as German Shepherds or Retrievers, he appears at various events, including Independence Day parades, helping to soften the stern image of the National Guard.
