Housing Sales Sentiment Rises in June, Maintaining Upward Trend
As housing prices continue to rise, particularly in Seoul and the residential areas supporting the semiconductor belt in Gyeonggi Province, housing sales sentiment also saw a slight increase last month.

According to the results of the Real Estate Market Consumer Sentiment Survey released by the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements on July 15, the national housing sales market consumer sentiment index for June reached 118.8, up 2.1 points from the previous month, maintaining an upward trend.

The real estate market consumer sentiment index is surveyed every last week of the month, targeting real estate agencies and general households in 152 cities, counties, and districts across the country.

An index exceeding 100 indicates that more respondents believe prices have risen or transactions have increased.

The index is categorized into a downward phase if it is below 95, a stagnant phase if it is 95 or higher and below 115, and an upward phase if it is 115 or higher.

In the Seoul metropolitan area, the index stood at 127.4, rising 2.2 points and maintaining its upward phase.

Seoul recorded 138.0, up 2.4 points, while Gyeonggi rose 3.5 points to 125.7. In contrast, Incheon fell 4.8 points to 107.0.

Outside the metropolitan area, the index rose 2.5 points to 108.8, continuing its stagnant phase.

The consumer sentiment index for the housing jeonse (long-term deposit rental) market nationwide was 113.0, down 0.2 points, maintaining a stagnant phase.

The metropolitan area recorded 119.4, up 0.4 points, continuing its upward phase.

Seoul fell 0.4 points to 123.8, Gyeonggi remained unchanged from the previous month at 118.1, and Incheon rose 4.2 points to 113.4.

Outside the metropolitan area, the index fell 0.5 points to 105.8, maintaining a stagnant phase.
