Heavy monsoon rains have been lashing Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong Province today (July 8) as heavy rain alerts remain in effect, leading to a series of reports regarding rain-related damage.

The Korea Meteorological Administration expects an additional 80 to 150 mm of rain through July 9, with some areas receiving more than 200 mm.
The Korea Forest Service raised the landslide crisis alert level for Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong from Caution to Alert as of 2:30 p.m.
