From the trendy vintage-style cakes to those layered tier by tier with fresh fruit and cream, just looking at them makes your mouth water.

This is the scene of the "Cake Picnic" festival, which has recently been gaining worldwide popularity.

First launched two years ago in San Francisco, USA, the rules of this event are quite simple.

To participate, you must bring one cake, which can either be baked yourself or bought from a bakery.

The event held in Melbourne, Australia, last March drew attention with over 1,600 cakes making an appearance.

The festival is also scheduled to be held in New York and San Francisco, USA, this fall.
