[One, two, three!]
On cue, paper airplanes of various colors slice through the autumn sky.
Celebrating its 16th anniversary this year, the Hangang Paper Airplane Festival was held at Yeouido Hangang Park.
To make them fly farther and stay in the air longer, children carefully measured with rulers and pressed down hard on the paper to craft their own unique airplanes.
[Park Jun-su / Gangnam-gu, Seoul: Since I'm in the sixth grade, this is my last chance to compete in the elementary school division, so I hope I do well this time.]
Though a mix of pride and regret crosses the children's faces after launching their planes, the time spent with their families feels much more precious than the scores.
[Kim Yoon-sun, Lee Jin-seo, Lee Min-woo / Songpa-gu, Seoul: It was fun. I felt good because my mom knew I liked paper airplanes and signed me up for it.]
People strolled among in-full-bloom cosmos flowers, capturing memories of the autumn day in photographs.
[Jeong Bok-gi / Songpa-gu, Seoul: The cosmos are in full bloom so it feels great. (Even so), human flowers are prettier, no matter how pretty the others are.]
[Chae Ok-ran / Songpa-gu, Seoul: It feels great. He says I'm prettier. Even though I'm not good-looking.]
The Seoul metropolitan area enjoyed clear weather throughout the day, with daytime highs reaching 27.8°C (82°F) in Seoul and 25.7°C (78°F) in Incheon.
Except for the Gyeongsang region, where brief showers occurred, the weather was neither too hot nor too cold, drawing a steady stream of family outings.
[Lee Min-jung, Bang Seo-a, Bang Dong-jun / Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul: There are a lot more flowers in bloom than expected, and the weather is nice, so I think it lifts our spirits. The flowers are pretty. (The flowers are pretty.)]
With wide daily temperature ranges of around 15°C centered mainly around inland areas, the Korea Meteorological Administration advised the public to take precautions for health management, as large temperature swings are expected to continue tomorrow, with morning lows dropping to 11°C (52°F) in Seoul.
