The musical "Mrs. Doubtfire," starring actor Hwang Jung-min, shot to No. 1 on ticketing site reservation rankings immediately after its first round of ticket sales opened.
According to production companies SEM Company and Studio Sunday, "Mrs. Doubtfire" claimed the top spot on both the NOL musical sector's overall daily ranking and Ticketlink's licensed musical daily ranking right after ticket sales began at 2:00 PM on the 6th. This upcoming run marks the third season of the show, following its premiere in 2022 and a second run in 2025. According to the producers, the previous two seasons accumulated a total audience of 180,000 and an audience rating of 9.8.
The main character Daniel will be played by Hwang Jung-min, Chung Sung Hwa, and Jung Sang-hoon. All three actors also played the same role in last year's encore run. Chung Sung Hwa has taken the stage as Daniel for three consecutive seasons, starting from the 2022 premiere through the upcoming third season. Park Hae-na, who has been with the show since its premiere, and Jang Eun-ah, who is newly joining this season, have been cast as Miranda, Daniel's ex-wife.
"Mrs. Doubtfire" is a Broadway musical based on the Hollywood film of the same name starring Robin Williams. It tells the story of Daniel, a father who becomes separated from his children after a divorce and disguises himself as an elderly nanny named "Mrs. Doubtfire" to stay close to them. The "8-second quick change" scene, where Daniel instantly transforms into Mrs. Doubtfire on stage, is considered one of the production's signature moments.
"Mrs. Doubtfire" will be performed at the GS Art Center in Seoul from December 3 to February 21, 2027.
