People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok has once again drawn a line regarding the potential reinstatement of independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon, citing the ongoing police investigation into the so-called "party bulletin board" incident.
Appearing on Newdaily TV's YouTube channel early this morning, Jang stated, "Until the party bulletin board issue currently under investigation is resolved, it is inappropriate to even mention the matter of reinstatement itself."
The "party bulletin board" case stems from allegations that posts slandering former President Yoon Suk Yeol, his wife, and several People Power Party lawmakers were published on the party website's bulletin board under the names of Han, who was then the party leader, and his family members.
The controversy surfaced in November 2024 when a system glitch on the People Power Party's bulletin board briefly exposed the real names of the authors.
Police launched an investigation after civic groups filed criminal complaints.
Jang emphasized that the case "is not merely an issue of a party bulletin board," adding that "it is tied to the fate of the conservative party."
He noted that the incident connects directly to every moment under the previous administration when the president lost governing momentum and the conservative party fractured.
Regarding criticism of his leadership voiced within the party, Jang assessed that it ultimately stems from concerns over elections.
He added that rather than focusing on internal party criticism, he is directing attention to people's livelihoods and "working to move forward as a policy-driven party that can be recognized as competent."
