A toy that replicates the process of giving birth has sparked controversy.
An American toy company has introduced a doll depicting a pregnant woman.
However, opening the stomach area reveals a jelly-like pouch reminiscent of amniotic fluid, from which a baby doll can be taken out.
After removing the baby doll, the mother doll's stomach can be closed back up to make it flat again.
The product, released last July, has recently been introduced through social media, drawing mixed reactions.
While some argue that it is bizarre and unpleasant for children to play with, others express the opinion that it can serve as a natural tool to explain the processes of pregnancy and childbirth to children.
Previously, in 2002, the maker of Barbie dolls also released a pregnant doll, which was pulled from Walmart amid backlash that it encouraged teenage pregnancy.
