Kim Jung-bin (35, Gyeonggi Province), a triple gold medalist in cycling at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games, has captured a gold medal at the 46th National Para Games.
Competing today (the 12th) at the Jeongseok Aviation Field in Jeju, Kim paired with pilot Yoon Jung-heon (35, Gyeonggi Province) to win the men's 27.5 km individual time trial (sports class B) final with a time of 34 minutes, 6.443 seconds.
Kim is a prominent figure in South Korean Para cycling who captured the South Korean delegation's first gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games on his way to securing three titles.
In the men's 20.9 km individual time trial (sports class C5), Jeong Jae-seop (49, Gyeong南 - wait, Gyeongsangnam-do) also reached the top of the podium with a time of 28 minutes, 37.885 seconds.
At the men's 400m (sports class T35) final held at the Gangchanghak Stadium, Park Byeong-gyu (24, Gyeonggi Province) won the gold medal while setting a new South Korean record of 1 minute, 6.19 seconds.
Park, who is also competing in the men's 100m and 200m events, is aiming for his third consecutive three-crown title at the National Para Games.
Yu Byeong-hun (54, Gyeongsangbuk-do), who won the men's 800m (sports class T53) the previous day, crossed the finish line first in the 400m today with a time of 53.26 seconds to claim his second title of the event.
Jeon Min-jae (49, Jeollabuk-do) won the women's 400m (sports class T36) with a time of 1 minute, 15.51 seconds.
In the men's singles tennis (sports class OPEN), Im Ho-won (28, Gyeonggi Province) defeated Kim Eui-taek (36, Gyeonggi Province) 2-0.
Having also won a gold medal in the men's doubles, Im became a double gold medalist of the tournament.
In the women's team table tennis (sports class CLASS 3), the Gyeonggi Province team consisting of Yoon Ji-yu (26), Jang Mi-hee (37), and Cho Kyung-hee (64) defeated South Chungcheong Province 2-0 to claim the top spot for the sixth consecutive time.
In the men's 50m freestyle swimming (sports class S4), Cho Gi-seong (31, Gyeonggi Province) won with a time of 50.62 seconds, defeating Kim Tae-hyun (23, Gyeongsangbuk-do, 55.63 seconds).
As of 6 p.m. today, Gyeonggi Province led the overall standings with 110,495.70 points, outpacing Seoul (74,027.30 points) and North Chungcheong Province (59,205.30 points).
