A delivery driver witnessed a situation suspected to be voice phishing.
He then called the police and prevented the damage.
Let us take a look at the story together.
This happened in Cheonan last March.
A delivery driver was making his deliveries as usual when he reportedly witnessed a suspicious scene through a window.
An elderly woman and a young man, who was wearing a suit.
It looked as though she was handing him a paper bag.
Sensing that the man might be a voice phishing cash collector, the delivery driver quietly backed up and watched the situation unfold.
And once the man got into a taxi and left, he called 112 to report the incident, providing the taxi's license plate number and the direction it was heading.
The police spotted the man along his anticipated route.
Upon checking, it turned out that he was indeed a voice phishing cash collector.
Thanks to the delivery driver's quick judgment and report, 29.9 million won in cash handed over by the elderly woman was prevented from falling into the hands of the criminal organization.
The delivery driver emphasized that anyone can prevent crimes if they just pay a little attention to their surroundings.
