▲ New stock futures underlying assets
The Korea Exchange announced that it will additionally list 18 stock futures and 2 stock options on September 14 of next month.
Among them, 4 stock futures and 2 stock options are from the KOSPI market, while 14 stock futures are KOSDAQ stocks.
The exchange explained that the stock futures were selected based on underlying asset criteria reflecting the market benchmark index rebalancing carried out last June.
Accordingly, four KOSPI stocks including DB HiTek, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, OCI, and d'Alba Global, along with 14 KOSDAQ stocks including Seojin System, Sungho Electronics, SPG, Wonik Holdings, PSK Holdings, and Hyundai Movex, will be listed.
At the same time, 10 stocks removed from the benchmark indices will be excluded from the stock futures underlying assets.
These include four KOSPI stocks such as GKL, GS Engineering & Construction, GC Holdings, and Sebang Battery, as well as six KOSDAQ stocks such as Golfzon, Dongkuk Pharmaceutical, Medytox, Seoul Semiconductor, EcoPro HN, and Kolmar BNH.
Stock futures scheduled for delisting can only be traded until September 10 of next month, which is the final trading day for the September contracts.
The two newly added stock options are Hyosung Heavy Industries and Hyundai AutoEver.
The exchange stated, "We selected stocks determined to have high demand among the stock futures underlying assets by considering market capitalization, trading value, and market opinions."
With this addition, the total number of stock futures will increase from 274 to 282, and stock options will increase from 64 to 66.
