Foreign tourists visiting Jeju found themselves losing their camera and IDs just before their scheduled departure.
With the help of the police, they were able to recover their lost items, and a handwritten letter in Korean they left behind has been drawing attention.
On June 23, two foreign tourists visited the Yeondong District Unit of the Jeju Seobu Police Station.
It turned out that the two were scheduled to leave the country that very day.
The previous evening, just a day before their departure, they had left their camera and IDs in a taxi.
Spotting a passing patrol car by chance, they urgently asked for help, and the police contacted the taxi driver through a taxi-hailing app, successfully recovering the lost items safe and sound.
They visited the district unit afterwards, explained how they received help using a translation app, and handed over a handwritten letter like this.
The content of the letter expressed gratitude, saying, "That night, which could have been the most difficult moment of our trip to Jeju, became our warmest memory thanks to you."
