Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants), who had been suffering from a batting slump in July, broke out with a home run and a double to return to a batting average in the .300 range.
Playing as the sixth-batting right fielder in a home game against the Los Angeles Angels in Major League Baseball (MLB) at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, on July 26 (local time), Lee went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs.
His season batting average, which had dropped to the .200 range, rose back to 0.302.
His multi-hit games (two or more hits in a game) for the season increased to 31.
After striking out on a foul tip in the second inning, Lee blasted a 3-run home run that rocketed into the right-field stands at a speed of 163 km/h with two outs and runners on first and second in the third inning, giving his team a 2-0 lead.
This is his 6th home run of the season, coming 32 days after his game against the Athletics on June 24.
With this home run, Lee increased his season RBIs to 37 and reached 100 career RBIs in the big leagues.
He also moved within 4 hits of reaching the milestone of 300 career hits.
Lee kept up the momentum by hitting a double to right field in the fifth inning, though he did not score due to a lack of subsequent hits.
In the seventh inning, he reached base after being hit by a pitch.
Lee finished the game when he was substituted during defense in the top of the eighth inning with San Francisco leading comfortably at 9-1.
San Francisco won 9-2 to secure its second consecutive victory.
