82MAJOR Secures Emotional First Music Show Win, Reaching Career High in Third Year

82MAJOR, now in their third year since debut, is drawing attention as they look to achieve the miracle of a small-sized label group.

On September 9, 82MAJOR took home their first-ever music show win since debut with "Like Fire," the title track of their second single "HEAT," on MBC M and MBC every1's "Show Champion."

Immediately after the win, the members welled up with tears and were unable to speak for a while. Leader Cho Seong-il shared his thoughts, saying, "Thank you to Great M Entertainment's CEO and agency staff who have always taken care of us like a mother since our debut, everyone who has helped us, and our fans who believed in us and waited. We will continue to show you our best sides." Nam Seong-mo added, "We have always been the ones giving out trophies, so we are truly grateful to be receiving one like this."

Making their comeback with "HEAT" on September 1, 82MAJOR surpassed 150,000 copies in initial sales to claim No. 1 on the Hanteo Chart's daily album chart and also hit No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart for the first time since their debut. They have also secured high rankings on the global iTunes and China's NetEase Music charts, receiving a well-balanced response both domestically and internationally.

This first-place finish was not achieved overnight. Debuting in 2023, 82MAJOR signaled their growth last October when their fourth mini-album "Trophy" surpassed 100,000 copies in initial sales within five days of release, followed by expanding their promotional scope by holding their first fan meeting in Tokyo, Japan, in December of the same year.

In April, they repeatedly took to the stages of major domestic music shows with "Sign," the title track of their fifth mini-album "FEELM," solidifying their reputation as a "performance-focused idol" through choreography driven by a wristwatch dance and staggered timing moves. It was evaluated that the stage experience they accumulated through a European tour and domestic and international solo concerts helped elevate the quality during this period.

Their capabilities as a "self-producing group," with all members participating in lyrics and composition, have also been consistently emphasized. Amidst this momentum, 82MAJOR previously proved their global influence by winning the Potential Overseas Group of the Year award at China's Weibo International Entertainment Awards.

Now in their third year since debut, moving from "Trophy" to "Sign" and finally to their first music show trophy, 82MAJOR has been breaking career highs with every release, steadily turning the modifier "miracle of a small-sized label group" into reality.
