'The Ballad of Us 2' Drops Teaser Starring Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Jung Seung-hwan

The heartfelt first teaser video for "The Ballad of Us Season 2" featuring Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Jung Seung-hwan has been released.

Premiering at 10 p.m. on Monday, October 5, SBS audition project "The Ballad of Us Season 2" is the second season of the hit show that sparked a ballad craze across South Korea last year by ranking first in 20-49 viewership ratings across all episodes and recording 100 million cumulative views. This season features contestants with an average age of 17.9 reinterpreting legendary hit songs spanning 40 years from 1985 to 2025 through their own unique sensibilities.

Released on the 10th, the first teaser video shows "expert music listeners" Cha Tae-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Jung Seung-hwan delivering warm messages and songs to their 17-year-old past selves, the same age as the current contestants.

Reflecting on the time he first met his wife, Cha Tae-hyun selected Yoon Jong-shin's "That Long-Awaited Day" and showed his enduring romantic side, saying, "That friend by your side is your eternal partner and guardian, so hold onto her tightly."

Park Kyung-rim sent heartfelt encouragement to her past self who dreamed of becoming an MC, saying, "You are going to do better than you think. I hope you continue to work your hardest today to nurture your dreams."

Jung Seung-hwan also joked to his past self who was nurturing dreams of becoming a singer, saying, "About 10 years from now, you will become a singer who relies quite a bit on his looks and sings half-heartedly. So please stay entirely focused on your singing," while also passionately performing "I Want to Fall in Love," which he sang during "K-Pop Star," adding to the emotional resonance.

Just like the expert music listeners who chased their respective goals and decorated a brilliant page of youth during the same period as the contestants with an average age of 17.9, anticipation is building for the active roles of the contestants who will arrive at "The Ballad of Us Season 2" with their own unique stories and sincerity.

"The Ballad of Us Season 2," which will feature legendary ballad masterpieces transcending eras and generations from 1985 to 2025 alongside the stories of pure teenage contestants, will premiere at 10 p.m. on Monday, October 5.
