SEVENTEEN member DK will enter the army training center on the afternoon of the 8th.
According to his agency Pledis Entertainment, DK will begin his military service by entering the army training center today. He is the sixth member of SEVENTEEN to enlist, and his service period will last until March 7, 2028.
On the 7th, one day prior to his enlistment, DK turned on the fan platform Weverse Live to share final farewells with his fans.
Revealing his freshly buzz-cut hair, he greeted fans with his signature affectionate charm, saying, "Hello Carats. My head has become round and cute." He also joked, "I shaved my head. Does the hair suit me? I keep instinctively trying to brush my hair back like this, but there is no hair."
However, DK suddenly burst into tears while listening to music during the live broadcast. Hastily wiping away his tears, he confessed, "I started feeling emotional while listening to the song. I didn't plan on crying. I am embarrassed. I'm sorry. I turned on the live broadcast to tell Carats that I will return safely, but I don't know why I am crying. It feels real now that I started the broadcast, so the tears just came out. It's not like I'm scared about going to the military."
Toward the end of the broadcast, DK said, "I love you. I will miss you a lot," sent a hand kiss, and wrapped up the live broadcast by shouting "Salute!"
On the day of his enlistment, DK plans to enter the training center quietly, as the admission ceremony is a gathering shared with numerous soldiers and their families. The agency added, "We ask for your unchanging love and support so that DK can faithfully fulfill his military duties and return in good health."
Previously, SEVENTEEN signed their second contract renewal with Pledis Entertainment last July, promising long-term activities together.
