Actor Kim Soo-hyun, who won the Grand Prize (Actor of the Year) at the Asia Artist Awards two years ago, is returning to the same award ceremony stage after a hiatus of nearly two years.
The Asia Artist Awards organizing committee announced on the 1st that Kim Soo-hyun will attend 'AAA 2026', which will be held at the Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan on December 5-6.
Kim Soo-hyun is the very actor who won four awards, including Actor of the Year for "Queen of Tears", at 'AAA 2024' held in Bangkok, Thailand, in December 2024. At the time, he shared his thoughts in his acceptance speech, saying, "I want to give this honor to Kim Ji-won, who played the world's best Hong Hae-in."
However, in March of last year, three months after winning the Grand Prize, Kim Soo-hyun completely halted his activities. This came after the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron and the YouTube channel Hover Lab claimed that the two had been in a relationship since the deceased was a minor. Kim Se-ui, the head of Hover Lab, was subsequently arrested and indicted on charges including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Defamation) and is currently on trial. On the 29th of last month, Kim Soo-hyun received a non-prosecution decision with no charges for allegations of violating the Child Welfare Act and false accusation.
Breaking a hiatus of nearly one year and six months, Kim Soo-hyun's return steps began on an overseas stage. On the 19th of this month, he will also resume domestic activities by attending the '2026 The Fact Music Awards' held at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
