Rapper Swings (real name Moon Ji-hoon) shared his thoughts on making his screen debut in the film "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub".
Attending the production presentation for the film "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul on the morning of the 18th, Swings introduced himself by his real name, Moon Ji-hoon, rather than his stage name, and said, "I appear as an outlaw and a terrifying figure in 'The Song of Beelzebub'."
He corrected reports that his character was known as "Hippo," stating, "The character I played is Abraham."
Making his screen debut through this project, Moon Ji-hoon shared his feelings after wrapping up his first film shoot, saying, "Since it was my first time doing a movie, everything was new. That was true when shooting in Korea, and it was true for overseas shoots as well. We went to Vietnam to film in the winter, but it was summer there. Doesn't your mood change when the environment changes? It was just so much fun. It was truly a grateful experience."
Ahead of his debut as a film actor, Moon Ji-hoon shared his sincere determination: "I've been making music for 20 years, but I've also loved movies for a long time. Once I decided I wanted to act, I got cast in just six months. I thought it would take about five years... Because I've received so many more blessings than my efforts warrant, I think I need to be even more humble."
Director Choi Kook-hee, who helmed the film, shared behind-the-scenes casting stories, saying, "I thought the character Abraham should be brief but impactful. We held many auditions, but everyone felt a bit lacking. In the meantime, I had a meal with actor Byun Yo-han, and he showed me a video of actor Moon Ji-hoon acting. After that, we held an audition."
"Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" is a crime film where Jang Tae-young (Byun Yo-han), who thought he had the world in the palm of his hand through an online casino business, and his close friend of the same name Park Tae-young (Roh Jae-won), who took everything from him, meet again in a global gambling arena for a showdown of revenge. It is known as the final installment of the "Tazza" series and the work most cherished by original author Huh Young-man.
The film opens on September 23.
