Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Surpasses 170,000 Presales 7 Days Ahead of Release in Korea

With one week left until its release, the film "The Odyssey" has surpassed 170,000 in advance ticket sales.

According to the Korean Film Council's ticketing rate aggregation on the 30th, "The Odyssey" recorded a ticketing rate of 16.2% and 178,000 in presales, placing second behind "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".

This figure surpasses the 139,000 presales recorded during the same period by Christopher Nolan's previous highest record holder, "Oppenheimer".

Having opened first in North America and many other overseas countries, "The Odyssey" is sparking a global box office sensation by surpassing $639.6 million in worldwide box office revenue.

Christopher Nolan is a director who enjoys high trust from domestic audiences. Expectations are also high for the technological challenge, as it is his new work released two years after "Oppenheimer" and the first feature film shot entirely with IMAX 70mm film cameras. Currently, the box office features fierce competition between "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "HOPE", but a three-way race is anticipated with the addition of "The Odyssey" next week.

"The Odyssey" will open in domestic theaters on August 5.
