SEVENTEEN VERNON Makes 'Tails of Tales' Debut, Confesses, "I Believe in Love at First Sight"

SEVENTEEN member VERNON and B1A4 member SANDEUL appear as new story friends on "Tails of Tales" to open up about their first loves.

SBS "Tails of Tales", airing on the 23rd, will feature the century-spanning romance of Ahn Jae-hyung and Jiao Zhimin. On this episode, SEVENTEEN's VERNON, B1A4's SANDEUL, and actor Kim Su-jin step in as listeners to join in on a heart-pounding love story. Notably, this marks VERNON and SANDEUL's first appearance on "Tails of Tales".

During a recent recording, VERNON caught attention by sharing his sentimental memories. He shyly confessed, "I had my first love in middle school," and added, "I believe in love at first sight," revealing his honest perspective on romance. In response, MC Jang Sung-kyu shared his own romantic side, saying, "I also fell in love at first sight and it led to marriage," sharing how he ended up marrying his elementary school classmate.

The upcoming episode will fully reveal the legendary love story of South Korean table tennis star Ahn Jae-hyung and Chinese table tennis star Jiao Zhimin, who broke down the walls of borders and ideologies to capture the world's attention in the 1980s.

Listeners could not hide their admiration upon seeing the couple, who appeared with enduring warm visuals as if defying 40 years of time. Former table tennis player Kim Ki-taek, a colleague who watched Ahn Jae-hyung closely at the time, testified to his desperate dedication, saying, "Jaehyung played Chinese language tapes every single day even in the dorm. It was almost overwhelming. Even when no one was listening to those tapes, he would leave them playing and never turned them off, yet not a single colleague in the dorm complained."

When the tumultuous twists and turns of the couple's difficult romance and the first confession letter sent by a young Ahn Jae-hyung in his twenties were revealed, actor Kim Su-jin burst into tears. VERNON also expressed deep emotion and lingering resonance, saying, "Have I ever been this earnest about anything?"
