Global pop star Shakira is drawing explosive attention from fans with a surprise Korean greeting.

Recently, Shakira posted a short video on her official Instagram saying "Hello. I am Shakira" in Korean. The clip showed her carefully and shyly pronouncing the Korean words, followed by choreographer Kany cheering for her, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.

Right after its release, the video spread rapidly across domestic online communities and social media, prompting responses such as "I cannot believe Shakira gave a greeting in Korean" and "Could she be preparing for a concert in Korea?"

Behind this Korean greeting was French-born choreographer Kany. Married to a Korean spouse and known to global audiences through appearances on Korean variety shows, Kany is the lead choreographer who directed the official theme song "Dai Dai" for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America. He reportedly taught Shakira Korean directly during rehearsals and completed the video together with her.

The close friendship between the two grew even stronger while preparing for the World Cup stage. Kany directed Shakira's performance and worked closely with her, drawing interest from fans for their natural chemistry in the practice studio. This Korean video also captured their relaxed best-friend chemistry, bringing laughter to many.

Korean fans' attention grew even hotter following Shakira's meeting with BTS. On the 19th (local time), Shakira took the stage alongside BTS at the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America final held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA. Following BTS's performance of "Dynamite", Shakira decorated the finale with the official World Cup theme song "Dai Dai".

After the concert, BTS leader RM posted a photo taken with Shakira on his social media with the caption "QUEEN", and Shakira responded by sharing a group photo with the BTS members on her official Instagram with the addition of "BTS♡". The meeting of the two global artists became a major topic among fans worldwide.

Meanwhile, building on the popularity of the official World Cup theme song "Dai Dai", Shakira is continuing her U.S. arena tour. She is meeting global fans through her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" world tour, starting from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and heading to UBS Arena, Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, and more.
