Ha Ji-won to Throw First Pitch for LG Twins on July 16; Kicking Off Promotions for 'Portrait of A Family'

Actor Ha Ji-won is set to take the mound as the first pitch thrower for the LG Twins.

Ha will throw the first pitch at the game between the LG Twins and the KT Wiz, held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Thursday, July 16. This is particularly meaningful as it marks her first time throwing a first pitch in 12 years since the "2014 Hope Charity Baseball Tournament," and her first in a regular season professional baseball game in 18 years since the 2008 match between the Lotte Giants and the Samsung Lions.

This first pitch was inspired by her surprise "Home Run" performance on MBC's "Show! Music Core" last May. The video of the "Home Run" performance, which garnered attention for her timeless beauty, toned abs, and performance skills that rivaled professional idols, surpassed 3 million views within 10 days of its release and is currently nearing 3.6 million views, proving its explosive popularity. Beyond the main clip, it has spread across various short-form platforms such as Shorts and Reels, heating up online communities and social media.

The first pitch was arranged to infuse the players with the energy of victory, encouraging them to hit a "home run" in line with the song title. The preparation process will be revealed through the YouTube web variety show "Class of '26, It's Ji-won."

Ha, who shared a glimpse of her practice session where she aimed for the strike zone through her agency Haewadal Entertainment, shared her bold aspirations, saying, "I have been practicing really hard, so I hope my heart to support the players is conveyed well. I want to become a 'victory fairy' by seeing the players actually hit a home run."

Meanwhile, Ha is currently appearing in the web variety show "Class of '26, It's Ji-won," where she enters Kyung Hee University and communicates freely with Gen-Z college students, and is preparing to meet audiences through the release of the movie "Portrait of A Family" on September 2.
