Kensington Palace announced on June 28 (local time) that Catherine, Princess of Wales (44), who has resumed official duties after completing cancer treatment, has successfully completed a challenge to climb the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales within 24 hours.

The Princess undertook the Three Peaks Challenge to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, an organization she officially sponsors and the foundation of the hospital where she received her own treatment.

The Princess, daughter-in-law of King Charles III, was diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery in January 2024 and announced in September of the same year that she had completed chemotherapy.

In January of last year, she announced that she was in remission, a state where signs and symptoms of cancer are reduced or have disappeared.

The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345m), Scafell Pike in England (978m), and Snowdon in Wales (1,085m) within 24 hours.

The total walking distance is 37km with a total cumulative elevation gain of 3,064m, while the 743km distance between the three peaks must be covered by vehicle.

"Cancer doesn't just affect the body; it changes your thoughts and emotions, and has a profound impact on every aspect of life," the Princess said. "I know this personally, and I know that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than just medical care."

She added, "Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness about the significant impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic care, which addresses physical, emotional, and social needs."

The Prince and Princess of Wales consistently rank first and second in popularity within the British royal family, maintaining approval ratings between 75% and 80% in public opinion polls.
