President Lee Jae-myung will preside over the "Republic of Korea Great Leap Forward: Three Major Mega Projects National Report Meeting" at 2:00 p.m. today at the Blue House Guest House, joined by relevant government ministries and approximately 60 companies, including Samsung Electronics, SK, LG Electronics, and FuriosaAI.

The meeting was organized to announce investment plans for the "three major projects"—semiconductors, physical AI, and AI data centers—and to discuss government support measures.

The government plans to unveil strategies for power and water supply, as well as the creation of hub cities to support these projects. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won are expected to announce large-scale regional investment plans at the group level, including the "Honam region semiconductor cluster."

A plan to appoint officials at the Blue House dedicated to supporting these three projects and the participating companies is also expected to be introduced.

Over the past weekend, President Lee took to social media to post seven messages regarding the plan to build a large-scale semiconductor cluster in the Honam region, actively engaging in public discourse.

President Lee described this investment plan as a "historic achievement of unprecedented, massive regional investment attraction."

Addressing criticism from the conservative opposition party, which questioned whether companies were being coerced into investing in the Honam region, he retorted that it might appear that way to those who have historically abused national policy for political gain or twisted the arms of businesses. He urged them not to slander others by assuming they would act the same way based on their own past behaviors or experiences.

He added that this is not a special favor for a specific region, but a practice of a national cause to achieve balanced national development and alleviate conflicts between the Yeongnam and Honam regions, and asked for restraint in inciting regional discord.
