A city bus crashed into a utility pole at the Yulcheon High School three-way intersection in Cheoncheon-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 8:20 a.m. today (June 19).

No one was injured in the accident, but the utility pole fell onto the road, cutting off power to approximately 950 households in the area.

The accident reportedly occurred when the bus rolled backward while the driver was away from the driver's seat after dropping off all passengers at a bus stop.

A police official stated, "It appears the accident happened because the bus driver did not engage the parking brake before leaving the vehicle to attend to personal business."

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced that temporary power restoration was completed around 10:45 a.m.
