In the episode of SBS's 'Sunim & Sonim' airing on June 16, the guests' free-spirited travels as they experience India in their own unique ways back in Kolkata will be fully revealed.
Upon returning to Kolkata, Noh Hong-chul, Lee Sang-yoon, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Ki-taek, and WOOCHAN retrieved the suitcases they had left behind on their first day. When Venerable Pomnyun asked how they felt about living with minimal luggage, Lee Sang-yoon surprised everyone by saying, "Since I only had two outfits, I didn't have to worry about what to wear," before confessing, "I rotated and wore just one pair of underwear."
Following Venerable Pomnyun's suggestion to travel individually with their remaining time, the guests set off on their own solo adventures in Kolkata. Lee Joo-bin enjoyed Kolkata by taking a yoga class in India, the birthplace of yoga. Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yoon and Lee Ki-taek visited 'Mother Teresa's House,' which holds the legacy of Mother Teresa, and the 'Kali Temple,' which enshrines the Hindu goddess Kali, a symbol of Kolkata. The two were reportedly overwhelmed by the unfamiliar and intense atmosphere, marking their first time experiencing such a setting, and spent a unique time that transcended religion.
The youngest member, WOOCHAN, who expressed a wish to make Indian friends, headed to the University of Calcutta with Noh Hong-chul. While discussing their future dreams, Noh Hong-chul formed an unexpected bond with WOOCHAN and showed his extraordinary affection by shouting, "WOOCHAN, I wish you were my parent!" The two naturally mingled with local students around the university district, soaking in Kolkata's youth culture. Furthermore, fitting for India's reputation as a mathematics powerhouse, they reportedly engaged in an impromptu mental arithmetic battle with math majors, raising curiosity about who emerged victorious in this pride-staking showdown.
Gathering at a post office for their final journey, the guests took time to write rolling papers to one another. As they began writing, the playful atmosphere quickly turned serious. In particular, WOOCHAN moved to a separate spot to write his letter, saying, "I'm going to write this in secret," while Noh Hong-chul showed their deepened friendship by saying, "I couldn't even express one-tenth of what's in my heart." The guests added warmth to the moment by sharing their sincere feelings and memories built during their time together on the rolling papers.
Meanwhile, at the end of the journey in India, Venerable Pomnyun left a message that will give both the guests and the viewers plenty to reflect on for a long time. Venerable Pomnyun's message, which will prompt reflection on the meaning of the journey and leave a deep impression, will be revealed during the broadcast.
The final story of emptying and growth on 'Sunim & Sonim' will air tonight (June 16) at 9 PM KST.
