A fire broke out at a machinery manufacturing factory in Wonchang-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, at approximately 1:50 a.m. today (June 16).

While there have been no casualties, firefighting authorities are facing difficulties in extinguishing the blaze as the flames have spread.

So far, it has been confirmed that four factory buildings have been damaged by the fire.

Assessing the risk of the fire spreading through the densely packed factory area, the fire department issued a Level 2 response—a warning order that mobilizes personnel and equipment from five to six neighboring fire stations—at approximately 3:59 a.m., about two hours after the fire began.

The Seo-gu District Office also issued a safety alert, urging nearby residents to move away from the scene of the incident.

Fire authorities have deployed 92 pieces of firefighting equipment and approximately 250 personnel to carry out suppression operations.

Authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once the flames are brought under control.
