A Jagalchi Market employee dove into the water to rescue a man who fell into the sea after sleeping on a pier near the market in Busan.

According to the Busan Coast Guard on today (June 15), a man in his 50s, identified as A, was sleeping while intoxicated on a pier near Jagalchi Market in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu, Busan, when he stood up unsteadily and fell into the water around 9:00 a.m. today.

Noh (53), an employee at Jagalchi Market, had noticed A sleeping in a precarious position and, sensing a potential accident, asked a passerby to call for help while keeping an eye on him.

As soon as A fell into the water, Noh put on a nearby life jacket and jumped in.

He held onto A to prevent him from sinking into the deep water, and the Coast Guard arrived at the scene shortly after to rescue him.

A, who was unconscious at the time of the rescue, regained consciousness after receiving emergency treatment from the fire department's rescue team and was transported to a hospital.

The Coast Guard is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.

A Coast Guard official stated, "We plan to express our gratitude to Mr. Noh for his assistance in the rescue."
