Jang Ki-yong & Ahn Eun-jin Turn Up the Heat; Dynamic Kiss' Is Weeknight's Top Drama, No. 1 in the Key Demo
Shouldn't Have Kissed!
'Dynamic Kiss' cranked up the slow-burn as Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin's mutual-pining romance finally erupted.

According to Nielsen Korea, the Nov. 27 broadcast of SBS's Wed-Thu drama "Dynamic Kiss" (written by Ha Yoon-a and Tae Kyung-min; directed by Kim Jae-hyun and Kim Hyun-woo) posted a 6.1% rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, with a minute peak of 8.1%, securing the No. 1 spot among weekday dramas. In the key 20-49 demo, it averaged 2.0% and peaked at 2.72%, ranking No. 1 among all Thursday programs ― momentum that points to a strong run ahead.

This episode lit a match under the love square between Gong Ji-hyeok (Jang Ki-yong), Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin), Kim Sun-woo (Kim Moo-joon) and Yoo Ha-young (Woo Da-bi). Even as they fell for each other, Ji-hyeok and Da-rim couldn't say the words, keeping viewers teetering between butterflies and heartbreak.

Earlier, Ji-hyeok witnessed Sun-woo and Ha-young sharing a kiss ― Ha-young finally flooring the gas on her crush. When Da-rim appeared, Ji-hyeok, who mistakenly believes Da-rim and Sun-woo are married, impulsively pulled her into an embrace to shield her from the sight, hoping to spare her feelings.

From there, everything tangled. Convinced Sun-woo and Ha-young were having an affair, Ji-hyeok could only watch over Da-rim from a distance. Sun-woo subtly signaled his feelings to Da-rim, but she missed the cue. Ha-young, hurt by Sun-woo's indifference, grew anxious as she sensed his heart drifting toward Da-rim.

Even in the chaos, Ji-hyeok and Da-rim's feelings only deepened. Ahead of a make-or-break pitch, Da-rim handed Ji-hyeok a four-leaf clover from their Jeju memories. He had tossed it away in front of her while trying to move on; she quietly picked it up and kept it safe. Fueled by the Mother TF team's grit and Da-rim's support, Ji-hyeok won the pitch.

Ever the stoic softie, Ji-hyeok kept looking out for Da-rim. His cool-but-caring gestures sent her heart racing, and in a tipsy moment she admitted, "I'm wavering ― please don't be so good to me." The confession rattled him, but for her sake he swallowed his feelings and pretended not to remember the next day.

Then Da-rim collapsed. Ji-hyeok rushed her to the ER on his back and whispered to the sleeping Da-rim, "Don't waver, and don't suffer." Her phone rang ― Sun-woo calling. Ji-hyeok declined the call as his narration over the scene confessed, "Right now, I want to be the only one protecting you. I want to be the only one by your side. I might be losing my mind."

Episode 6 kept the tension crackling, bottling up emotions until they were ready to burst. Sharp, instantly memorable lines added a dangerous charm to the pair's push-and-pull. Jang and Ahn glide from bright, breezy comedy to aching longing, dialing up the show's addictive pull.

In the preview for Episode 7, Ji-hyeok and Da-rim are drawn even closer, their resolve shaken yet again. When will the truth come out so they can love freely? "Dynamic Kiss" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m. KST on SBS.
