The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced today (November 3) that it participated in "Pet Fair Southeast Asia 2026," held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 28 to 30 alongside the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, achieving $4.46 million in export consultations.
Marking its 5th anniversary this year, the exhibition is considered Southeast Asia's largest business-to-business (B2B) pet industry trade show.
aT operated a Korea Pavilion alongside 36 domestic companies.
The participating companies marked a record high, increasing by 11 from last year.
These companies showcased pet food, pet hygiene and grooming supplies, and healthcare products.
According to aT, a total of 308 export consultations took place during the exhibition.
Among them, pet-exclusive tableware products secured two on-site export contracts worth $52,000.
Additionally, five memorandum of understanding (MOU) and letter of intent (LOI) agreements were signed, amounting to approximately $78,000.
aT explained that various products—ranging from pet food and treats to pet skin ointments, smart muzzles, harnesses, and specialized tableware—drew significant interest from overseas buyers at the site.
According to aT, South Korea's pet food exports last year reached approximately $160 million, with major export markets concentrated in Asian countries such as Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
To diversify export destinations for South Korea's pet-related industries, aT supported one-on-one consultations with overseas buyers, localized product promotions, and the discovery of new trade channels.
Jeon Ki-chan, Director of Export Food at aT, said, "We will actively support domestic pet-related industry companies in expanding their overseas sales channels and stably entering the global market."
Meanwhile, aT and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs are recruiting five export companies through November 16 to participate in a program that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect counterfeit K-food products distributed on overseas online platforms and support blocking reports.
