President Lee Mourns Passing of Choi Bool-am: "Father of Our Era... National Actor"

President Lee Jae-myung expressed his deep condolences over actor Choi Bool-am, who passed away yesterday (October 29) night, saying, "I will remember the master who stood by the public's side for so long as the father of our era."

President Lee wrote on his social media today, "Starting from the theater stage, he was beloved by the nation for many years as Chief Inspector Park Yeong-han in 'Chief Inspector' and Chairman Kim in 'Country Diaries.'" He added, "His presence as a detective upholding justice and as a warm-hearted father who stood beside us will long remain in the hearts of the people."

The president also emphasized, "Just as his saying goes, 'To be a good actor, one must first become a decent human being,' he demonstrated a warm heart toward people and the world that went far beyond acting."

He continued, "I will deeply take to heart his devotion to looking after the shadows of society and tending to the pain of neighbors in need."

President Lee prayed for his eternal rest, saying, "His benevolent voice and hearty laughter in his works are still so vivid. May he rest in peace."
