A Hellenistic-era mosaic structure has been discovered at the Kultepe archaeological site, which is currently undergoing joint excavation by the South Korean and Turkish governments.

The newly discovered mosaic structure is a building floor made by laying small pebbles, marking the first time a Hellenistic-era mosaic has been confirmed at Kultepe since excavations began in 1948.

Measuring 163 cm from east to west and 165 cm from north to south, the mosaic is estimated to have originally been larger, considering the surrounding traces.

To mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, the two countries plan to hold a special exhibition introducing the achievements of the joint Kultepe investigation and excavated clay tablets.
