A 19-year-old aspiring chef has passed away after gifting new lives to seven patients through brain-dead organ donation.

The Korea Organ Donation Agency (KODA) announced that Kang Min-su (19) was declared brain-dead on September 30 at Myongji Hospital, after which he donated his heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, both kidneys, and both corneas to a total of seven people.

Kang's parents decided to proceed with the organ donation, remembering how their son would never pass by anyone in need.

They made the decision believing that if it was something that could help someone else, it would also be what their son wanted.

His father, Kang Seong-won, shared, "It brings me great comfort to think that Min-su's heart is beating well inside someone else's body."

Born in Busan as the second child of one son and one daughter, Kang had dreamed of becoming a chef and opening his own restaurant since he was young.

To achieve his dream, he entered a culinary high school and attended a cooking academy to build his skills.

He would often make food and bread for his family in his spare time.

His father said the ramen Kang cooked for him remains his most memorable meal, and he still cannot forget that taste.

Bidding his final farewell to his son, the father said, "Min-su, I miss your face and voice so much as you used to approach me calling me Dad. Dad will always be right here, so please visit me once in a while. I miss you so much and I love you."
