Power Outage Hits Large Apartment Complex in Incheon, Affecting Some 1,800 Households

Around 8:20 p.m. yesterday (October 16), a power outage occurred at an apartment complex in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

According to fire authorities and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), a fire broke out in the apartment complex's underground electrical room, cutting off power to about 1,800 households across 20 buildings.

No casualties were reported from the fire or the blackout.

Believing that the outage was caused by a malfunction in the apartment complex's own transformer, KEPCO is assisting with emergency restoration work.
