President Lee also called for a thorough response to prevent further damage given the large amount of flammable materials inside the factory, Cheong Wa Dae Senior Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said.

President Lee especially urged officials to devote all efforts to ensuring the safety of firefighters during operations to extinguish the fire.

At around 8:38 a.m. today, a fire broke out at a four-story metal parts coating factory in Nae-dong, Ojeong-gu, Bucheon.

So far, five firefighters have been injured in the fire, with one in critical condition following cardiac arrest.
