50-Something Executive Whips Import Car Dealership Employee's Face

This is in front of an import car dealership in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

A man swings a belt toward another man's face.

People around try to stop him, but the man, seemingly unable to contain his anger, swings the belt again.

It was around 11:00 a.m. yesterday (October 12) when a man in his 50s, surnamed A, went on a rampage, including slapping a dealership employee.

Mr. A, an executive at a small to medium-sized cosmetics company, reportedly complained about a defect in a vehicle he purchased, claiming the dealership employee suggested the responsibility lay with him instead.

When the employee walked away, Mr. A even grabbed a plastic shovel from the parking lot and searched for the employee.

[Mr. A: Hey! Where the hell did that bastard go?]

He opened the restroom doors one by one,

[Mr. A: I'll find him. Come out. (Sir, please just put that down for a moment.) Come out! (Someone's going to get hurt.)]

He shouted that he would not leave until he found him.

[Mr. A: Bring him here. Bring that bastard here, bring him here!]

Even after the police arrived, the situation did not easily calm down.

[The Employee: Everything of you hitting his face with a belt was caught on camera.]

[Mr. A: Hey, hey, hey, I'll just pay the fine, you bastard.]

A day after the assault, Mr. A returned to the dealership and threatened to retaliate for reporting him to the police, ultimately leading to his arrest at the scene.

[The Employee: The biggest thing was how terrifying it was. And that he might come back someday and retaliate against us.]

A police official stated, "It appears there was mutual assault as the other party also struck back," adding, "No one was seriously injured."

SBS contacted the cosmetics company where Mr. A is employed several times to get their stance on the incident, but could not reach them.
