Responding to the report, firefighting authorities deployed 43 personnel and 15 pieces of equipment, including fire engines, to battle the blaze.

During the operation, part of the house collapsed, trapping a firefighter under a mound of dirt. The firefighter was rescued and rushed to the hospital.

The fire was completely extinguished at around 3:00 PM, after destroying part of the house and an outer detached annex (sarangchae) located in the yard.
