A transport bus carrying a man departs from the police station.

Shin, a man in his 30s accused of trapping and killing a woman in her 60s named A inside a freezing warehouse at a cafe he operated in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, is being transferred to the prosecution.

Police believe that Shin attempted the transaction to gain financial profit by selling 50 billion won worth of fake gift certificates.

Investigations revealed that the freezing warehouse was intentionally installed to confine anyone who might interfere if problems arose during the transaction.

In fact, police found that Shin had inquired about renting a freezing warehouse from a company since early last month and had it installed on August 27.

Police believe that Shin confined A out of concern that she would reveal the gift certificates were forged.

Shin is also known to have asked an AI a question to the effect of, "What happens if there is a person inside a freezing warehouse?"

Police have also booked person B, a gift certificate broker who connected Shin and the victim, on charges of forging valuable securities.

B drove the female victim from Seoul to Paju in a vehicle on the day of the crime, and was spotted getting out of the vehicle together with Shin about five hours before Shin was arrested.

However, it is reported that whether B was involved in the murder of the female victim has not yet been confirmed.

Police plan to further investigate the exact motive for the murder while continuing their investigation into accomplices in the gift certificate forgery.
