Ahead of its premiere on Friday, October 9, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia" (written by Pyun Sung-keun, directed by Lee Jung-rim) released its first stills of actor Lee Jung-eun, who plays Jang Hee-sook, on the 3rd.
"Doctor X" follows the story of Gae Su-jung (played by Kim Ji-won), a genius surgeon with uncompromising skills who shatters massive absurdities as the "mad dog of the operating room." It is drawing high expectations as the first medical genre in the SBS Cider Universe.
Jang Hee-sook, the character played by Lee Jung-eun, is the money-obsessed head of a doctor staffing agency. While she appears fussy and materialistic on the surface, she is actually a clever strategist who drives business through smooth social skills. She dispatches agency top-tier ace Gae Su-jung to Guseo University Hospital and takes charge of cleaning up unexpected incidents.
In the released stills, Lee Jung-eun displays seasoned sales skills with a capitalist smile and polite posture designed to disarm the opponent's caution. On the other hand, in the surgery observation room and at the negotiation table, she sheds all smiles and radiates a cold gaze, showcasing a twist of aura that controls the drama's temperature.
The production team of "Doctor X" stated, "Lee Jung-eun has completed a unique Jang Hee-sook by skillfully crossing the boundaries of playfulness and seriousness. Please pay attention to Lee Jung-eun's charm, which will add thrilling fun to the drama." They added, "In particular, the unique relationship that Lee Jung-eun and Kim Ji-won will create is another key point to watch. Beyond simple contract partners, the two form a strange bond resembling an aunt and niece at times. Please look forward to the unique wo-mance chemistry they will showcase."
"Doctor X" will premiere on Friday, October 9 at 9:50 PM.
