2NE1 Minzy Steps Into Producer Role with Soulful R&B Chapter

Minzy of 2NE1, is signaling the start of a new chapter that clearly captures her own musical color.

At 9 a.m. on the 25th, Minzy kicked off her comeback countdown by launching her official website along with a new logo and profile images. She will meet fans by releasing a new song and music video on September 28.

This new release is built upon a foundation of soulful R&B. In particular, Minzy directly participated in the overall creative process, including producing, songwriting, and lyric-writing, deeply infusing her own musical color and story. Minzy stated, "I deeply participated in the entire creative process from producing to lyric-writing and songwriting. It is a very personal work to me, and I think it captures my current appearance as an artist just as it is."

She continued, expressing her anticipation, "Above all, I think fans will be able to experience a fresh and unique energy that lets them feel a side of me different from before and how I have changed musically." Regarding the live performances to be shown on stage, she said, "This music seems like it will come alive even more when vocals, emotion, and energy are added on stage. I want to share that moment with everyone and let them feel the music in a more raw and personal way."

Minzy debuted as a member of the group 2NE1 and was loved for her powerful performances, vocals, and unrivaled stage presence. Celebrating its 15th debut anniversary last year, 2NE1 held an Asia tour spanning 27 shows across 12 cities, bringing a grand journey shared with a total of 220,000 concertgoers to a close with their Seoul encore concert last April.

On the 23rd, Minzy drew attention by visiting BIGBANG's 20th debut anniversary concert along with DARA and CL. However, fellow 2NE1 member Park Bom was not seen at the gathering that day. Park Bom suspended her activities last year in August due to health reasons.
