A man in his 60s who went missing while hiking on Mt. Cheonmasan in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, has been found dead.

According to fire authorities and police yesterday, a report was filed at around 7:20 a.m. the day before yesterday in Mukhyeon-ri, Hwado-eup, Namyangju, stating, "He hasn't returned past his usual return time and cannot be reached."

Authorities launched a search and located the vehicle of Mr. A in the parking lot of Mt. Cheonmasan. Focusing their search toward the summit, they found Mr. A, a man in his 60s, dead below a cliff around noon.

Due to the rugged terrain, police used a helicopter to recover Mr. A's body and handed it over to the bereaved family.

According to the police, Mr. A habitually hiked Mt. Cheonmasan every day. On the day of the incident, he left home early in the morning and reportedly sent a photo taken at the summit of Mt. Cheonmasan to his family.

Police believe Mr. A slipped and fell while descending the mountain and are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
