Roh Jae-won Reflects on First Commercial Film Lead Role in 'Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub'

Actor Roh Jae-won shared his heartfelt thoughts on taking on his first commercial film lead role.

Attending the press conference for the film "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" held at Yongsan CGV in Seoul on the morning of the 18th, Roh Jae-won expressed his overwhelming emotions, saying, "This is my very first commercial film as a lead actor. It is deeply meaningful, special, and feels like a dream to me."

He added, "However, rather than just focusing on that thought, I had my own acting goals and the path I wanted to take, so I acted while thinking only of Park Tae-young. I briefly set that pressure aside and spent the filming period focusing solely on acting. I want to take this opportunity to once again thank the director for casting me."

In this project, Roh Jae-won takes on the role of Park Tae-young. He is set to portray an emotional chemistry of friendship and betrayal with Jang Tae-young, played by Byun Yo-han.

Byun Yo-han praised his fellow actor Roh Jae-won, saying, "He has a 200% synchronization rate with the original work." Roh Jae-won emphasized the excellence of the original work, stating, "When I read the original 'Tazza', it was such a brilliant story. After reading the cartoon, I couldn't break away from it for almost two months. It even took time for me to shake off the images from that cartoon."

He revealed that his partner, Byun Yo-han, played a major role in helping him shape his own version of Park Tae-young. Expressing his gratitude, Roh Jae-won said, "My key to acting was senior Byun Yo-han. Actor Byun Yo-han was Jang Tae-young himself, even on set. He was like that in person too. I felt envious and wanted to be like him, so I even copied his acting. It served as a huge hint for playing Park Tae-young."

"Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" is a crime film about Jang Tae-young (Byun Yo-han), who thought he had the world in his hands through his online casino business, and his close friend of the same name, Park Tae-young (Roh Jae-won), who took everything away from him, as they meet again in a global gambling arena for a revenge match. The film is scheduled to be released on September 23.
