A man in his 30s has been arrested by police after secretly entering a rooftop room in his building to watch and illegally film two women in their 20s while they were sleeping.

Today (August 11), the Anyang Branch of the Suwon District Court issued an arrest warrant for the man, who is facing charges including trespassing and violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (using cameras to take photos), stating that "the crime is grave and there is a concern that he may flee."

The man is accused of going up to the rooftop of an apartment building in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, where he lives, at around 2:50 AM on the 9th and entering through the window of a rooftop room occupied by two women in their 20s.

Investigations showed that while the man and the victims lived in the same building, they were complete strangers to one another.

Police who rushed to the scene following a report apprehended the man red-handed as he was hiding on the rooftop of the building, and multiple secretly taken photos of the women's bodies were found on his mobile phone.

During police questioning, the man reportedly stated, "I was just curious about the victims' bodies and had no other sexual crime intentions."

Police plan to analyze the exact timing of the filming through digital forensics on the man's mobile phone, investigate whether there were any additional crimes, and forward the case to the prosecution soon.
