According to the results of the party member votes for the Democratic Party's Jeju and Incheon primaries announced this evening, party leadership candidate Kim Min-seok ranked first with 47.75% of the vote.
Candidate Jung Chung-rae placed second with 42.08%, while candidate Song Young-gil came in third with 10.17%.
While previous results from the Chungcheong region and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam primaries showed candidate Jung leading candidate Kim by a margin of about 1,200 votes, combining today's results puts candidate Kim ahead of candidate Jung by approximately 1,400 votes.
However, the final vote gap may slightly change as a 5% weighting is applied to the Yeongnam region votes when they are tallied at the end.
During prior joint speeches, candidate Kim appealed to the party base by emphasizing the sharing of state governance philosophy between the party and the presidential office, candidate Jung by calling for an ethics inspection into suspicions regarding Shincheonji, and candidate Song by calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae.

[Jung Chung-rae/Democratic Party Leadership Candidate: Please prove through an ethics inspection that Shincheonji has nothing to do with the Democratic Party.]
[Song Young-gil/Democratic Party Leadership Candidate: I, Song Young-gil, will push for the impeachment of Cho Hee-dae. I will immediately suspend his duties. I, Song Young-gil, will finish judicial reform.]
As for the Jeju and Incheon regional party member votes for Supreme Council member candidates, the top five ranked in order: Park Sun-won, Choi Min-hee, Seo Mi-hwa, Han Min-su, and Kim Yong.
Following Jeju and Incheon, the Democratic Party will continue its convention primaries tomorrow in Gangwon, Daegu, and Gyeongsangbuk-do.
