On the morning of the 5th, a press conference for the new Netflix series "Our Sticky Love" (written by Mo Ji-hye, directed by Kim Jang-han) was held at Hotel Naru Seoul M Gallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Jang-han along with actors Jung Hae-in, Hayoung, and Heo Sung-tae attended the event to share various stories with the press.
"Our Sticky Love" is a romantic comedy depicting the heart-fluttering cohabitation between Ko Eun-sae (played by Hayoung), an elite prosecutor suffering from amnesia, and Jang Tae-ha (played by Jung Hae-in), a boxing coach who insists he is her boyfriend.
Hayoung, who is taking on her first rom-com genre through this project, shared, "As a fan of romantic comedies, I was quite scared and had a big desire to do well." She added, "Fortunately, I was able to meet a great script, and thanks to the director, fellow actors, and seniors, I filmed while learning a lot. I was so happy."
In the series, Hayoung plays Ko Eun-sae, an elite prosecutor with amnesia. Before losing her memory, she was a figure who tracked down a violent organization under the name Ko Ji-won and got caught up in a mysterious accident. After waking up in an unfamiliar rural hospital, she follows Jang Tae-ha—who claims to be her boyfriend—to Yeomaeul Village, unfolding a dynamic romance.
Hayoung explained her acting focus, saying, "I tried to create a difference between when she lost her memory and before that." She continued, "At first, there must be a lot of vigilance and anxiety, and I thought a lot about how to express the process of her heart opening up through various interactions."
Having made her mark in numerous hit Netflix works such as "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" and "Teach You a Lesson", earning nicknames like "Netflix public servant" and "Netflix's daughter", Hayoung shared her honest thoughts on her first leading-class role. Hayoung said, "It is such an honor, but I was also a bit scared. I wanted to do well, but I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to do a good job." She added, "However, starting with Jung Hae-in oppa, the director, and the seniors helped me in every possible way, so my worries disappeared the moment filming started," expressing her gratitude for the on-set chemistry.
Building on the consecutive successes of her previous works, she expressed confidence in this project as well. Hayoung raised expectations by stating, "While watching the edited footage, I gained certainty. I am confident that we will receive reactions like 'It's been so long since a rom-com like this, I missed it'."
"Our Sticky Love" consists of a total of 12 episodes and will be released on Netflix on the 7th.
