The upcoming film "Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone" has surpassed 100,000 pre-sale tickets.
According to the Korean Film Council's ticketing aggregation on the 4th, "Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone" is currently recording a reservation rate of 9.9% and 105,000 pre-sold tickets. This is a strong showing achieved even amidst fierce competition from the record-breaking "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "The Odyssey", which opens on the same day.
"Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone" is a fantasy animated film that depicts the miraculous adventure of Romi and Heartsping, who must save Romi's mother who has disappeared into the sea. It is the sequel to "Heartsping: Teenieping of Love", which was released in August 2024 and drew 1.24 million viewers nationwide.
Returning after two years, the sequel places an even greater emphasis on the message of "love." The central axis of this work is the process of Romi, who sets out on an adventure to save her mother vanished into the sea, realizing her mother's love along the way and learning to understand someone—progressing from merely knowing love to truly understanding it.
As the only animated film released this week, "Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone" is expected to draw enthusiastic responses from family audiences during the school break and vacation season.
The movie is set to be released in theaters nationwide on the 5th.
