Model Lee Min-seok, Husband of Han Areumsongee, Discharged Early from Military: "Please Refrain from Speculation"

Model Lee Min-seok (27) has been discharged early from the military after being judged unsuited for active-duty service.

News of Lee's discharge became known through a post by his wife and influencer Han Areumsongee. On the 22nd, Han shared a lengthy message via her social media, saying, "Today, I would like to speak regarding my husband Min-seok's military service."

She explained, "Min-seok has received treatment for mental health issues since before his enlistment. Even so, he chose to enlist for active duty of his own accord and tried to fulfill his national defense duties. However, as his symptoms worsened during his service, he underwent multiple examinations, consultations, and reviews based on the judgment of the military and medical institutions, and was ultimately discharged after being judged unsuited for active-duty service."

Han added, "This is not a decision made through a short or simple procedure. It is not a matter that can be decided solely by an individual's personal intent, but rather an official result finally reached in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures. Since we believe that recovering his health is the most important priority right now, we plan to spend time focusing on sufficient treatment and recovery for the time being. We sincerely thank everyone who always supports and worries about us, and we earnestly ask that you refrain from unconfirmed conjectures and speculation."

Previously, Lee, who is in an age-gap couple with Han Areumsongee where she is six years older, held their wedding on October 26, 2024. Lee is a model who has been active in domestic and international fashion scenes, making his presence known by walking the runways of Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Valentino, and Dior since 2019.
