As Park Na-rae's former manager, who is accused of demanding a share of the company's revenue, was referred to prosecutors in custody, the former manager's legal representative said, "We are thoroughly reviewing the investigation records and the arguments presented by the previous legal team."
Law Firm Kangsim recently stated through the comments of the YouTube channel "Attorney Jang," operated by lawyer Jang Hyun-ho, "This case is a matter where our law firm was recently appointed as the new legal counsel, and the investigation had been underway for a long period prior to that."
They added, "We are currently conducting a meticulous reexamination of the investigative records, including the arrest warrant, as well as the arguments of the previous legal team. We ask for your understanding that we cannot disclose specific details due to the nature of the ongoing investigation." They further stated, "Moving forward, as legal counsel, we will do our utmost with a sense of responsibility to guarantee the client's right to defense and to clarify the exact facts between both parties."
The Seoul Yongsan Police Station recently forwarded Park Na-rae's former manager, surnamed Shin, to the prosecution in custody on charges of attempted extortion and occupational embezzlement. According to reports, Shin was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued by the court on the 16th. Another former manager, who also faced attempted extortion charges alongside Shin, was referred to prosecutors without detention.
According to police, Shin and the others are accused of demanding 10% of the company's 2024 revenue from Park Na-rae in exchange for not exposing allegations that she used company funds for private purposes, such as on her ex-boyfriend. Shin was also charged with embezzling approximately 30 million won in company funds. These are charges applied and forwarded by the police, and guilt has not been finalized.
Lawyer Jang Hyun-ho previously uploaded a video on his YouTube channel on the 11th titled "I Was Contacted by Park Na-rae's Former Manager," announcing that he had been retained as the legal representative for one of the former managers. At the time, Jang stated, "I had previously made a video about the past dispute between Park Na-rae and her managers, and after seeing it, one of the managers asked me to act as their legal counsel, so I recently took on the case."
Jang emphasized that the video he made discussing this case was not produced after taking on his current client. He explained with the intention, "I want to let you know that I did not produce the video to favorably take sides because I now represent this client."
In a video released last January, lawyer Jang analyzed that the dispute between Park Na-rae and her former managers began with unpaid wages and settlement issues, and expanded into a criminal case following real estate provisional seizures, an attempted extortion complaint, and additional exposures. At the time, assuming the allegations made by the former managers were found to be true, Jang even mentioned the possibility of Park Na-rae receiving a prison sentence or probation, offering an opinion that attempting early damage recovery and settlement would be advantageous.
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae was also reported to have been forwarded without detention on the 10th on charges of special assault and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, in connection with allegations raised by the former managers.
