'Marine Private' Jung Dong-won Shows Off Dashing New Look

Singer Jung Dong-won has made a public appearance, looking noticeably more dashing and healthy while serving in the Marine Corps.

Jung Dong-won, currently serving as a Private in the 2nd Marine Division Artillery Brigade, served as the host for the Marine Corps victory commemorative event held on the 11th.

According to videos shared by fans on social media, Jung Dong-won appeared on stage with a short haircut, wearing his military uniform and an eight-pointed cap, looking bright and healthy. After taking off his cap on stage, he saluted with a disciplined posture, saying, "Hello. I am Private Jung Dong-won, the host for today. I will now salute. Pilseung!"

His more robust physique compared to before his enlistment also drew attention. Throughout the event, Jung Dong-won hosted with a clear voice and disciplined posture, and even when clapping, he maintained a sharp, soldier-like demeanor. After the event, he was seen looking bright while taking photos with military generals.

Born in 2007, Jung Dong-won voluntarily enlisted in the Marine Corps on February 23, shortly after graduating from the Department of Practical Music at the School of Performing Arts Seoul. Although he had already achieved great success as a singer at a young age, he drew attention for choosing to fulfill his national defense duty early at the age of 19.

Enlisting in the Marine Corps was a goal Jung Dong-won had held for a long time. Before his enlistment, he revealed through YouTube content that he had sought advice on military life from singer and actor Oh Jong-hyuk, a Marine veteran, saying, "If I was born a man, I want to serve in the military in a cool way. My father was also in the 707th Special Mission Group, so I have heard many stories about the military."

Jung Dong-won is scheduled to be discharged on August 22, 2027.
