The rain here at Dorimcheon Stream in Seoul was intense this morning but stopped in the afternoon.
Light rain has begun to fall again.
The water level of the stream, which had risen, is gradually receding, and the walking paths that were previously closed have now been reopened.
Localized, heavy monsoon rain poured down on Seoul starting this morning, July 9.
Around 12:40 PM, the first flood alert of the year was issued for the areas around Sindaebang Station, Sillim Station, and Boramae Station near Dorimcheon Stream.
At that time, heavy rain warnings were in effect for the southwestern and northwestern parts of Seoul, including Gwanak-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Mapo-gu, and Jongno-gu.
As the rain stopped and the heavy rain warnings were lifted, the flood alert was also rescinded after about two and a half hours. Currently, all heavy rain alerts in the Seoul metropolitan area have been lifted.
However, there is a high possibility of more heavy rain overnight, so caution is still advised.
